NEW COMIC! ANIMAL & OTHER SHORT COMICS

I've just printed a new comic collection! It is a compilation of a few short story comics I've been working on this past year. It is home-made with good paper and made the best I could. Some stories are slightly longer than my previous "19 Short Comics" while a couple are a quick one page read. Read more HERE.

bamboo calligraphic pen

Random drawings with a bamboo calligraphic pen I got from that uncle at straits commercial. I think he made it.
It's pretty fun because it gives very flexible line widths. I also used a brush for the bigger black areas. Drawn on brown paper + photoshop for colours.

Illustrations for Reader Digest Asia

These were done for the Moneysavvy section of Readers Digest Asia, where people write in to get financial advice. I come up with the concepts, do a rough sketch on paper and complete it using illustrator.

About wanting to keep investment risks low.

About foregoing chasing girls to take on part time jobs while young.

About dealing with the biggest debt problem first in a debt problem.

Illustrations for Young Parents Magazine

I've finally got around to shooting the illustrations that appear in Young Parents Magazine. They were too difficult to scan and I didn't want to tear them out from their bindings. I worked on these illustrations with Rachel Lim, the art director at SPH. She did the layouts and helped with the concepts. They were sketched on paper and then coloured over in with photoshop.

experiments

Calligraphic nib pen and some brush + photoshop. I noticed that the calligraphic nib pen works better with calligraphy inks rather than cheaper pen inks. maybe the thicker, the better.
