Haha. This exact same thing happened to me. I bought way too many pens and I've ended up selling off most of them. I never did find the 'perfect pen' but I don't think one exists. It is a slippery slope.
Good to know there are other artists like me. Searching for the perfect pen is like searching for the perfect mate. There is no such thing. But you can take time to treasure a pen and really get use to it and then it becomes the perfect pen? Hmm that's analogy that could work.
