brush and photoshop
Inspired by a style by Bastien Vives. I saw one of his graphic novels at Kinokuniya (Polina) and loved his lines. He does it digitally but his brush strokes look pretty convincing. Here is my experimentation with a similar style using Pentel brush pen + photoshop.

Where To Get A Well-Restored Yet Affordable Vintage Fountain Pen With Flex!
Here is a review I did on the best place to get restored vintage pens from.
http://parkablogs.com/content/where-get-well-restored-yet-affordable-vintage-fountain-pen-flexI wish I had reason to buy another pen from Greg. But I have too many pens already!
acrylic inks
3 bottles of acrylic inks have been sitting beside me for years. I bought them but I seldom use them. But today I thought i'd like to paint with something a little thicker than watercolour. The lines were drawn with black pelikan ink (not waterproof but it mostly stayed) using the an ackerman pen. (either g-nib or hunt). Acrylic and pelikan ink on paper.
I do kind of like prefer more desaturated colours. So here is the same picture after some adjustments in photoshop.

ramen champion
$16 for a bowl of ramen with four big slices of pork and thick tasty broth from the Ramen Champion of the season. It was good. This restaurant concept at Illuma has a few Ramen stalls grouped in one place. And people can vote which stall is the best. Nice concept. I've also been to the Ramen Stadium in Hakata, Japan, where they have a similar concept. (Maybe that's where it originated)
Yvonne read her Game of Thrones novel while I drew this picture. Drawn with Sailor profit calligraphy pen on paper + photoshop.
acrylics
Haven't touched acylics in awhile. So I decided to try them out again and decorate some old sketchbook covers. This is the outcome. I'm not very experienced with acrylics so it was more of a trial and error thing. But heck, it was fun. And my old sketchbook covers now look nicer.
Acrylic paint on thick smooth black paper.
