Educational picture books for the Ministry of Education in Singapore
Some of the picture book projects I've been working on in the past couple years. The challenging part of educational picture books is that I couldn't go too wild with the art style and composition. The art couldn't be abstract or too arty. Everything needed to be very clear and simple because they targeted at pre-school kids. Also, every book needed to have a different art style. So I had to cook up a different mix of mediums for each book. The books were made into big sized books and were meant to be held and read by a teacher in front of a class of children. These here are the handy-sized ones. You will only find them in Singapore schools as they aren't for sale at the bookstores. Had fun doing this and learned a lot along the way.

the february sketchbook
These are the nicer sketches from February. They were done with a few art tools - Zig Calligraphy Marker, brush, Custom 742, Vintage Wahl Eversharp Skyline, Parallel Pen, G-nib, Duke Confucius, watercolours, colour pencils and photoshop. I think I've used so many that I lost track of which pen I used for each picture! Well, enjoy!
