Clementi mall

Drew this while having breakfast at the newly revamped Toastbox at Clementi Mall. I looked out the large window while munching on a ham and cheese toast which I occasionally dipped into a bowl of soft-boiled eggs. I'd also sip my cup of coffee+evaporated milk+no sugar. Outside, people were busy walking past. A train would stop at the station every few minutes. Behind me, two men were chatting about their kids and work. I was glad no one was looking over my shoulders while I drew. FW acrylic ink marker + watercolours.

Parker 51 stub, dip pen, watercolors, posca white marker

Playing with posca markers and acrylic ink

Since I only had 4 markers, I was forced to use a limited colour palette. The brown and skin tone orange were warm colours so I balanced it with a blue. White marker for highlights and FW acrylic ink in a home-made marker for the black. Later on, I got the FW marker to put the FW acrylic ink in and that flowed a lot better.

Pages drawn in Taipei

Recently came back from Taipei, a city with nice weather. Didn't get to draw much. Just a few pages.

Uniball Impact.

A new Ollie comic. In this one, I use a kind of "jedi mind trick" that my brothers and I would use on each other when we were younger. Try it out and see if it works. It only works on Ollie, now and then - usually when she is just a little annoyed. For a complete collection of Ollie comics before Aug 2017, check out the book here: http://www.drewscape.net/theolliecomics.html

Uniball Air + photoshop.

P.S. The Chinese brush pen in this video is this cheap one HERE. The cap looks different in the video because I made a new cap for it.

Black and white

These couple weeks, I've been carrying around a dip pen, black ink in a small squeeze bottle and a portable Chinese brush. So I'm liking just black and white for now. And I love the satisfying feel of drawing with a dip pen. Not as convenient as a fountain pen, but there is something really enjoyable about using a dip nib.

The weird caped person pic was done with a Twsbi fountain pen with blacks added in using the Chinese brush.

Syle test

I like experimenting and trying out new styles. This is one I saw in a picture book today and I was figuring it out here. (Not exactly. But close.) Pencil + cut outs + watercolour. The girl on the left is wearing a shirt with Ollie's (my daughter's) handwriting on it. They are gibberish letters.

greendot dinner

Marker + watercolours. The Mayo yoghurt soya burger there was delicious.

I remember drawing this at a UCC coffee counter inside Isetan at Westgate mall. Drawn with a pencil and painted with poster colour that I brought around in small Muji airtight containers.
