more bamboo calligraphic pen drawings

bamboo calligraphic pen + photoshop. Was trying out creating the midtones in photoshop instead. It does simulate paint to a good degree i think.

Do you make your own brushes in Photoshop?

I've only tried making brushes once or twice before. it can be quite fun. But I got these brushes with textures from a friend. the brushes only achieve this effect after i used "threshold" on them (to flatten the colour. makes it look more like a screen print). I've yet to experiment with this technique further.
