Making my own textures for Procreate

I seem to have this love hate relationship with digital tools. There is a purity in using natural media and there is convenience with digital tools. And sometimes, there is magic when I combine both of them together. Sure, it's not "pure" but it is magic and fun.

A few weeks ago, I went back trying to create my own texture stamps on Procreate. I found some tutorials on Youtube like this one. I had to get textures from natural media and then convert them into a digital stamp. Then I used various digital stamps to make this random abstract comic above. I usually use scraps of paper for this, cut and pasted, but this turned out really fun and satisfying as well. Sure, it doesn't have the finer details of a real collage, like the cut edges and little shadows, but I like to see it as a separate kind of art style. It's really convenient because it's mess free and I get more control over the final outcome (which can be a good or bad thing.)
