When is my art polished enough?

I'm teaching at an art school and my students are now bringing their comics to a finished level. I sense that there is some uncertainty as to what a finished artwork is and what is not. Many students only draw with a computer. They pick a digital brush tool in an app and start drawing, they use the undo key to undo errors, go close-up to add details, adjust, pick a cool paint brush, colour it. But where is the finish line? When is it done? Is it OK to leave it sketchy? Or do I need to neaten it more? How neat or tight do I go?

I did this video with them in mind. I've asked myself these questions too and here is how I answer them, doing illustrations for clients over the years. Watch the video HERE.
