A silly comics experiment
I was trying out a silly comics experiment for a class recently. Draw out a few conversation panels but leave the panels blank. Only after the drawing is complete, fill in the text. On the first try, it doesn't quite make sense. On my latest try (I tried a few times), it started to make more sense. Making the text be about a regular good guy bad guy fight talk seemed too direct. So I tried to make the conversation going in a different direction from the visuals. I like how the final one became more about buying a new tool haha. That seems to resonate with me a little more, whether it be buying a camera or a new art tool, the tool itself doesn't make the art better. It helps some, but the more important factors are the basic art principles of line, texture, tonal values, colour, composition, etc.
